Commemorating the National Day of Awareness for MMIWG

Red Dress Day, also known as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People, is nationally recognized on May 5. 

On Friday, May 3, Humber's North Campus Library and Indigenous Education & Engagement will host space for reflection, remembrance and awareness dedicated to remembering and honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). Opening words of reflection, prayer and an honour song will commence at 10:30 a.m. in the Humber Library, North Campus on the 4th floor.  

3 Actions to take for National Day of Awareness for #MMMIWG 

  1. Attend on Friday, May 3 from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. for a prayer, song and moment of silence. 
  2. On Friday, May 3, create a button for awareness (supplies will be provided). 
  3. Wear red, take a photo and share it on social media to bring awareness to #MMIWG.
