Creating a Respondus Software Compatible Multiple-Choice Test

Formatting Questions

1. Remove any headings in the document. Titles will not be recognized by Respondus. 
2. Select all questions and Clear all formatting if you have not done so. 
3. Select all questions, then format the questions using the “Multilevel list” tool. 
4. Select the “Tab” key over answers so they appear in the following format:
    1. What is your favourite colour?
   1. Red
   2. Blue
   3. Green 
   4. None of the above 

Formatting the Answer Key

1. At the end of the test, write “Answers:”
   NOTE: It is case sensitive, and you must have the colon. 
2. Using the “numbered list”, enter the answers. Example:

Answers: 

1. A 
2. B 
3. D 
4. B

After you import the test zip file in Blackboard Ultra, it should populate at the bottom of the course in a folder called “Undeployed tests”.
