Ann Mary - Paralegal Studies Degree

My journey to Humber College begun a year after I had first moved to Canada. I had just settled into high school life and had to begin the process all over again. I was a bit nervous to start, but once I did some research, I was really intrigued with Humber College. You get applied learning opportunities, while engaging with professors and getting personalized attention in the classroom. I had the opportunity to visit the Lakeshore Campus and it was stunning, plus everyone I met was so welcoming.

I have always had a passion for law, so I applied to the Paralegal Studies degree program and enjoyed every minute of my experience! The majority of my professors were all working in the industry and brought so much of that experience into the classroom. I was able to do a placement during my degree, where I was able to work with a lawyer who introduced me to the world of community justice, which I found really captivating and wondered if it was something I could pursue.

I reached out to my professors and student advisors who encouraged and inspired me to further my studies and let me know that Humber had the perfect program for my career needs. I am now pursing the Community and Justice Services program and I love it! This makes me very excited for my future career in the helping profession.

I am glad I made the decision to attend Humber College. I have been introduced to new experiences during my time here and so many doors have opened for me due to the networks and connections I have from Humber. I am very excited for what lies ahead!
