Burhan - Practical Nursing

After graduating high school, I was confused about what I wanted to do, but it involved helping people. I didn’t apply to any colleges because I assumed that university was the path to go. While attending my university, I learned what I enjoyed learning and what I didn’t. Although I liked university, it wasn’t the right fit for me. I wanted something more hands-on, while still gaining my theoretical education. So, I decided to transfer to a college, where I could learn practically and still learn the theory.

I investigated Humber and found out that they offered a nursing program, in which I would learn both the theory and clinical aspects of the field. I applied to Humber’s Practical Nursing program. Humber offers such a wide range of learning, through labs and small class sizes, all the way to working out in the field (hospitals and clinical settings). Humber not only became a new post-secondary to me, but it also became a home. I feel comfortable learning at Humber, knowing I have industry-experienced professors and clinical instructors, always there to help me. Humber is an environment where you can communicate with professors and other students to ensure you’re networking and developing professional relationships. Humber’s main focus is on student success, so I knew when applying that I would not only feel like I was being taken care of, but I also knew it was a place in which I can create a foundation for my education. I look forward to completing my education and growing within the Humber College community.
