Start your once-in-a-lifetime adventure and join the exceptional international group of students and faculty for a three-week Summer School program in the heart of Finland. You will make unforgettable memories and friendships for life!

Finland is one of the Nordic countries and a top performer in education, quality of life and human development. The city of Jyväskylä is located in Central Finland with numerous lakes and scenic nature. JAMK Summer School combines high quality academic content with the opportunity to join co-curricular social activities around the beautiful lake district of Finland. The campus is an energetic, lively and multicultural environment with 8,000 students from over 70 countries.

Which Course Can I Take?

Choose 2 of the following eligible courses to be combined for one GNED course (diploma) or lower-level breadth elective (SCC Category) course (degree) from Humber. Please note the restrictions/eligibility for each course.

  • Corporate Diplomacy (Students in the Bachelor of Commerce – International Business are not eligible to take this course)
  • Intercultural Interactions: Influences and Implications (Students who have taken, or will be taking as a program course, BUS 3505 Intercultural Communications are not eligible to take this course. It is also not eligible for students in the Bachelor of Commerce – International Business)
  • Business Creativity (Students in the Bachelor of Creative Advertising and the Bachelor of Creative and Professional Writing are not eligible to take this course)
  • Psychology for Leaders
  • Global Team Leadership (Students in the Bachelor of Commerce – International Business are not eligible to take this course)

Earn Humber Elective Credit:

Earn transfer credit to satisfy one GNED course (diploma) or lower-level breadth elective course (SCC Category) (degree) from Humber by taking two of the above courses at JAMK. Must be approved in advance by Humber Polytechnic.

What is Included in the Program Fee?

  • Administration/Registration
  • Summer School Office and tutor services
  • 2 nights at in Helsinki May 30 - June 1, 2025
  • Transportation from Helsinki to Jyväskylä on Sunday, June 1, 2025 including the visit to Porvoo
  • Extracurricular activities: Helsinki and Jyväskylä city tours, Porvoo visit, cruise at lake Päijänne, Traditional Finnish Summer Eve Experience, farewell party
  • Travel health insurance for the program dates, arranged by Humber
  • Summer tuition fees are waived at Humber and normal tuition will be due Fall semester

What is Not Included in the Program Fee?

  • Round trip airfare (book your own flights)
  • Accommodation (book your own accommodations for Jyvaskyla)
  • Activity fees and meals outside of those included in the program itinerary
  • Incidentals, spending money
  • Baggage and trip cancellation insurance, if desired
  • Associated visa costs, if applicable
  • Humber transfer credit fees ($25.00 per course, upon completion)
Please note, that weekend study tours to Tallinn (Estonia) and Stockholm (Sweden) are booked and paid separately! Check the description and costs on the Study Tours section.

Accommodation
JAMK recommends three accommodation options. There is an option to save on accommodation costs by living with roommates or choosing different room styles.
