Using Other Sources and Copyright Rules

It is important to note that the rules for copyright materials for a face-to-face course are different than those of an online course. There are specific considerations that instructors must take into account when creating an online course.

Before including materials such as an image, video or infographic from a specific source without a Creative Commons or equivalent licence, it is best to use the services at the Humber Libraries Copyright Department to determine if the using the materials is permissible. The library offers a guide on copyright laws.
