Lori Diduch's Retirement Announcement

After more than twenty-five years as a transformative HR leader, Lori Diduch has decided to retire September 2022.

Since joining Humber in August 2015, Lori has led the college’s Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness (HROE) team, helping to modernize and digitize everyday processes and advance Humber’s values through a wide range of initiatives.

Throughout the pandemic in particular, Lori’s leadership has been key. From ensuring that staff health and safety would drive all decision-making, to developing the college’s first remote work policy and training series, to nimbly adjusting to new challenges and required changes, Lori’s been at the forefront of supporting employees and our operations during uncertain times.

Lori has been a champion of a number of equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives. Through her role as one the executive co-sponsors of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) taskforce, Lori has supported the creation of Humber’s first S2LGTBQ+ and Black/African employee resource groups along with the development of the college’s inaugural EDI framework.

Lori has always focused on enhancing employee well-being and engagement, and helped create the Humber at Home pledge, outlining a consistent approach to supporting each other while working remotely. Lori has also led the development of Humber's first five year talent management strategy and plan, positioning the college to be able to continue to attract and retain top talent.

One of the biggest projects that Lori has overseen during her tenure is the implementation of the cloud-based HRMS. This system ushered in a new era at the college, enabling automated HR services and providing employees with direct access to key employment information and self-service functions.

Prior to her time at Humber, Lori held the role of Executive Vice President, People, Service and Performance for the William Osler Health System and worked for more than two decades in human resources leadership roles with Leisureworld Long Term Care, the Ontario Hospital Association and the Toronto Transit Commission.

Over the next weeks, I will be working with Lori on transition plans and will be embarking on a search for the college’s next Vice-President, HROE this spring.

I want to thank Lori for her contributions and commitment to our employees. I know we all wish her well as she looks forward to retirement. We plan to mark Lori’s contributions and celebrate her achievements more formally later this year.
