To the Humber Community,

In my welcome to the winter semester blog from last month, I mentioned ways in which we’ll be focusing on making the term, and the year, the healthiest and the most successful it can be.  We’re working on many initiatives focused on employee engagement, the Okanagan Charter, and our healthy and inclusive campus, including an important framework discussion.

At last year’s President's Breakfast, I announced that Humber would soon launch Unlimited, our first-ever comprehensive public fundraising campaign. Now, I’m excited to share that the Campaign has kicked off in full swing.

As you may have seen from the giant banners outside the LRC at North Campus and R Building at Lakeshore, along with recent social media activity and Communique notices, work has now begun to engage potential supporters in this important fundraising effort. Humber College is saddened by the deaths of the passengers aboard the Ukraine International Airlines flight that crashed in Iran, including Ontario college and university students and faculty, and their family members.

Our province’s postsecondary institutions are shaped by teachers and learners who foster global citizenship and bring the world closer together through education and scholarship. This tragic loss is felt by all members of the college community.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the families, friends and colleagues of the individuals who died in the crash.
