Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) Low key style portraits have always jumped out at me because they carry so much emotion and leave a lasting impression on the observer. This work is a self portrait and the intention behind it was to show the beauty that can lie within vulnerability, especially as it relates to masculinity. While the culture towards men's mental health and show of emotion is improving, it's important to continue shedding light on social issues until they are completely unveiled so the real work can be done.
