Art Description: As a photographer, I love to capture the beauty of candid moments. I find in those in-between shots, a spark is captured and a genuine moment is frozen in time. In these moments, I find, the true essence of the individual is highlighted. This image captures just that and is even more special because I have no other photo like it. With photographers wrestling to get a few shots in, I decided to shoot through another photographer's arm, and this allowed me to frame my model. The frame adds depth and draws the viewer in. The soft focus and slight grain of the photo give it a vintage editorial look. Editing this photo to be in black and white was the final touch that brings this image to life. I find black and white images highlight details that can easily be overlooked. It gives the viewer a chance to truly take in the photo on a deeper, more intimate level. I don't just take photos for photography's sake, but I want my photos to evoke a mood or a feeling. This photo evokes curiosity as well as an overwhelming sense of meekness. I find the softness of the hand position, body language, and vulnerable expression creates a storyline; making you yearn to know more about the background of the individual on a personal level. You’re left wanting to know their true essence.
