Through dynamic discussions and practical exercises, you’ll explore the principles of allyship, reflect on how you can better support students and colleagues, and walk away with actionable strategies to create equitable and welcoming spaces across campus. Better understanding of personal and institutional biases is integral to developing an inclusive mindset. As committed allies we can work together to build a culture of open communication and accountability.

This is your opportunity to actively contribute to a more inclusive academic community!

Learning outcomes:

  • Cultivate an Inclusive Mindset: Identify and address personal and institutional biases, and integrate inclusive practices into teaching, service, and operational processes.
  • Practice Active Allyship: Understand and apply the core principles of allyship to create equitable and supportive environments for both students and colleagues in academic and operational roles and recognize your role in fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe environment for the Humber community.
  • Challenge Bias and Promote Equity: Develop skills to engage in active allyship by effectively calling in or calling out behaviors and practices that undermine inclusion, fostering respectful dialogue and accountability.
