Humber College has planned a virtual Remembrance Day Ceremony for November 11. Humber Lakeshore Principal Derek Stockley, Dean of Students Ian Crookshank and student government IGNITE will host the event live on Microsoft Teams at 11 a.m.
The ceremony is open to the Humber community and will include a recording of the national anthem and a reading of Flanders Fields, followed by two minutes of silence.
The live event can be accessed here on November 11 at 10:50 a. m.
Earlier in the month, another event was held at the Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital Cemetery, near the Lakeshore grounds.
In October, 24 veterans buried at the cemetery had headstones installed thanks to the Last Post Fund, which provides military markers for unmarked veterans’ graves.
The recognition event was part of a bi-annual cemetery clean-up event organized by Among Friends, who marked each grave with flags and flowers.
