The keynote speaker for this event is Joan Rupram. Joan is an Indo-Caribbean femme immigrant and descendent of Indian indentureship of Guyana; identifying as Caribbean, Indian, South Asian, and Indo fluidly. They have an eclectic background in social justice, political science, experiential learning and spiritual evolution that is channeled into mentoring leaders to build intentional communities with radical accountability. Joan's work centers the reclamation of our ancestral lineage and indigenousness as Black and Brown Indigenous Bodies of colour to decenter whiteness in all areas of life. They are a healer, mentor and educator focused on ushering wellness as the foundation of sustainable leadership. The focus of their practice is to connect the personal is political is spiritual, drawing on nuances and connecting lived experiences to broader social systems. Bridging the gap between the spiritual and the practical, Joan's mission is to build the inner caliber of social change doers and new school thought leaders to be and build the change they seek in today's world and changing social and economic climate; so they can embody their leadership, lead their greatness and reclaim their self-mastery.
