Cuban-American pianist and composer David Virelles came to Toronto in 2001 from Santiago de Cuba to study music at Humber College. Since then, the critically acclaimed musician has accumulated awards wherever he's gone. Select accolades include the Aaron Copland Fund for Music Award, the Grand Prix de Jazz de Montreal General Motors, as well as having albums selected as top albums of the year by The New York Times and NPR, among others.
