Derek Stockley, Dean, School of Social and Community Services

It is my great pleasure to announce the appointment of Derek Stockley as Humber’s incoming Dean for the School of Social and Community Services. 

As many of you know, Derek is currently Associate Dean, School of Social and Community Services, and a member of numerous strategic committees and working groups across the college.

Derek brings to the Dean’s position a wealth of experience as a professor, academic administrator, faculty member, lecturer, presenter and researcher.  His successful and progressive career includes more than 10 years of postsecondary experience along with extensive work in the field of Social and Community Services. 

Derek holds a B.A. with Honours in Sociology and a M.Sc. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph, as well as a Professional Certificate in Strategic Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University.  He has won numerous academic awards and is currently a PhD candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto.

Derek has been a valued member of the Humber team since 2009, and he will take on his new role as of August 17th 2015. I invite you to join me in congratulating Derek on this well-deserved appointment.
