Requests for Mock Interview Support Now Open

As we gear up for the winter term, we are encouraging faculty who want to run our new peer-to-peer mock interview workshops to submit their requests before Friday, February 9.

How does it work?

There are two styles of workshops available to choose from:

Peer to Peer | Time Allotment – 1 hour per session

  • Suitable for all class sizes
    • Large class sizes will be broken up into 20ppl (10 pairs) per 1 hour timeslot
  • Student to student practice
  • In two rounds (15 mins each), students take turns being the interviewer and interviewee

Peer-Panel | Time Allotment – 1 hour per session

  • Suitable for all class sizes
    •  Large class sizes will be broken up into 30ppl (10 pairs) per 1 hour timeslot
  • 2:1 ratio, or as determined appropriate by faculty
  • In three rounds (10 mins each), students will experience being an interviewer with another student colleague and an interviewee

Connect with your designated Career and Student Success Advisor to determine which style works best for your course. The Advisors will then provide guidance for faculty in selecting interview questions and help facilitate the mock interview workshop. The Career Centre’s mock interview feedback rubrics are provided.

What will students gain from this new format for mock interviews?

We have already received positive feedback from students who have engaged in this new format for mock interviews. Students’ gain insight into how the interview process works, why employers ask particular questions and build their confidence in their own ability to be successful in an interview process.

The full list of Advisors and the schools they support are included in the attached flyer. Please don’t hesitate to contact your designated Advisor should you have any questions.
