I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Yolande Smith as Humber’s Equity Generalist. In this role Yolande will be working alongside the Humber community to ensure that the College meets the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). She will also be providing administrative support to the Director and Manager of Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity.

Yolande is a Humber graduate obtaining her post graduate degree in Human Resources Management. She comes to the Centre from her role as HR Coordinator in HR Services. As HR Coordinator, Yolande provided human resources support to over 5000 employees as well as providing administrative support to HR Services. Before joining Humber, she spent several years working in the financial sector in Kingston, Jamaica where she was responsible for meeting the needs of her client base, providing training to new employees, and achieving and exceeding company sales goals. Yolande’s experience demonstrates outstanding customer service, strong organizational skills and an exceptional capacity to learn. She has extensive experience working with diverse communities locally, nationally and internationally and is committed to increasing diversity and inclusion at Humber. 

In her role at Humber, Yolande will be reporting to Jessica Bowen, Manager, Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity | HR Services.
