Mihaela Pop in Classroom

Mihaela Pop, Project Managment Professor and Program Coordinator

Mihaela Pop is a Professor and Program Coordinator for the Project Management program at the IGS campus.

With over 20 years of experience leading transformational projects and programs for top-tier companies, Mihaela’s focus is to bring real-life business examples to the classroom and foster mutually beneficial relationships with industry and local community. For our students this approach ensures an enhanced learning, understanding of the Canadian marketplace, and readiness to compete for their dream jobs. Mihaela is an expert in project management methodologies and an Agile framework enthusiast who keeps herself up to date in regard to industry trends and best practices through applied research.

Her global corporate experience gave her the opportunity to be immersed in different cultures and be a passionate supporter of diversity in the workplace. Her perspective brings commitment to a classroom environment where all students can achieve their potential, add value, and experience a sense of community regardless of their background and country of origin. Mihaela is very excited to be part of the amazing IGS Campus team of faculty and staff, whose whole purpose is student success and fulfillment.

Omar Wahdan in Classroom

Omar Wahdan, Full-Time Professor and Program Coordinator

Omar is currently a full-time professor and program coordinator for the Business Insights and Analytics program.

His teaching and research interests include business intelligence, big data analysis, data visualization and modeling. Omar's experience accumulated through an MSc and PhD in Artificial intelligence, a Postdoctoral fellowship in Machine Learning and Data Analytics from Ryerson University (now TMU), and several years of teaching and industrial consultancy both in Canada and oversees. Omar is keen in practicing experiential learning with his students and found that the International Graduate School (IGS) offers an excellent environment to exercise it. For Omar, "Being surrounded by Canada's largest financial and technological hub and offering adaptive technology and collaborative classrooms, the IGS is a unique place to prepare our students to succeed in a competitive, global, and technology-driven job market."
