Yesterday, we came together as a community to celebrate the achievements and successes of the Humber College spring 2021 graduating class.  

For those who were not able to join us yesterday, I wanted to share a few of the thoughts from my Convocation address.

President's Message

The following message was shared with Fall 2021 students today. 

Dear students,

As we look ahead to the Fall 2021 term, I know that many of you are eager to know what the Fall term will look like and to see the delivery plans for your programs and classes. I am pleased to provide you with an update regarding the upcoming semester.

President's Message

Last week, the remains of 215 children were discovered at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School in Kamloops, British Columbia. These are 215 lives that were cut short and families that were traumatized. It is a vivid and heartbreaking reminder of the ongoing legacy and ripple effects of the residential school system in Canada. The suffering of those impacted by this tragic discovery is palpable, and as an institution, Humber stands with Indigenous peoples in this shared grief. 

Humber was one of the first colleges to sign on to the CICan Indigenous Education Protocol. We are committed to putting in the work required to achieve truth and reconciliation.
