Introducing Humber Tomorrow

Dear Humber staff,

Through the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to constantly respond to new impacts on our students, programs and operations.

We have learned a lot from these experiences, and we have accelerated approaches to teaching, learning and service delivery that may have previously seemed years away from happening.

As we begin the last two years of our 2018-2023 Strategic Plan and continue to navigate the pandemic, we have reviewed our initiatives and have determined which are needed to successfully achieve a refreshed set of future-focused strategic priorities.

We have outlined these priorities and the specific action items we are undertaking in the document entitled “Humber Tomorrow,” which can be found here.

We want to hear from you about how we can apply our learnings of the past year to strengthen Humber, ensure the success of our strategic initiatives and respond to the changing needs of our diverse learners.

Beginning next week, and over the next few months, we will be engaging the college community to talk about how we carry our existing vision forward, especially post-pandemic.

At the end of the Humber Tomorrow document, you will find information on how to share your perspective and thoughts on what the future looks like for Humber and for post-secondary education. You will also see the questions we will be asking during the engagement sessions.

To kick off the conversation, we will be holding a virtual town hall on April 21. Discussions will also take place within departments and Faculties and at cross-college forums such as College Council and additional virtual town halls.

I hope you will join us as we look ahead to our collective future and move forward through the second half of our Strategic Plan. Your input and ongoing contributions will continue to help shape Humber today and tomorrow.

Thank you for everything you do to support our students and each other.
