Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) | As a portrait photographer, I look for ways to bring my photographs to life. I strive to make what may seem to be mundane moments become works of art people gaze in awe about. One way I can achieve this is through art manipulation; utilizing post-production processes to add characteristics to a photo that are not visible in the raw image. In this piece, I experimented with a new technique, making it look like the photograph is being torn in various places, revealing what's "under the surface". I felt having a mix of black and white and colour added depth and interest. |
