Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) I've played cards almost my entire life and the idea of subverting a heteronormative stereotype of the King being with the Queen, is something that I really wanted to display. I always imagined the Queen of Hearts and the Queen of Spades being so suitable for each other with the personalities I gave them and I wanted to display that in a way that showed those characters also breaking free of their social restraints by literally lifting off of the page.
