Inspired by the 2022 hit game Elden Ring, "Lord of the Frenzied Flame" applies the traditional Christian usage of a triptych to depict key moments in a character's declination into evil. The three panels are independently meaningful, but compliment each other to deliver a more holistic concept.
On the right, the character appears to be the image of dignity: a fair-skinned man with blonde hair and blue eyes dressed immaculately in pristine garments. This façade of purity is however, muddied by an old scar and a striking, uncaring gaze. Using mild yellows and greens, this panel depicts the beginning of the character's journey, and marks the moment he turned away from goodness.
On the left, the character is looking down at the viewer with unnatural bloodshot eyes, clothed in a raggedy feathers. Clearly injured but proud and unbothered, this panel uses darker reds and blues to portray a moment when the character puts his violence and apathy on full display.
In the central panel, the character wears his frenzied yellow eyes brazenly and unabashedly, staring head-on at the viewer in a display of danger. He dons fine jewellery and tailored purple robes lined in gold to demonstrate his power and status. This panel combines colours and elements from both ends of the triptych, and adds a bright neon yellow to represent the character's madness at his journey's end.
