Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) A re-interpretation of Joan of Arc inspired by the controversies she had caused within the Church and the binary society at large. I wanted to use the idea of what she represented to explore masculinity and feminity and challenge the way we view gender roles in society. This piece is meant to celebrate the multitudes of gender expression and decorate them with honor instead of shame.
