Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) Film has always been an inspiration for my photography, especially that of the works of Wes Anderson. On one of our camping trips, my friends and I decided to hang out at the site. Two friends pulled out a chess board, and a narrative in my head began playing out as they started the game. I wanted to create the images from the perspective of an intensive chess game, cinematically and focusing on gesture, lines, and composition. I began shooting as if I was shooting stills on the set of an ongoing film. This shoot turned into a series of photos called "It's Your Move."
Although, this one in particular has remained a favourite of mine and will always be.

Chess is also a game I grew up playing and where I learnt to be strategic and competitive, so I was looking forward to seeing this vision through.
What year was the artwork created? 2019
