Toronto, Ontario – Allan Cole, a graduate of Humber College’s Funeral Services Education program has won the 2018 Premier’s Award in the Health Sciences category.

Allan Cole is President and Owner of MacKinnon & Bowes Ltd., Canada’s specialist in international repatriations of deceased persons. Cole was the first (and remains) Civilian Mortuary Affairs Director for the Department of National Defence and the RCMP, serving his country by overseeing the repatriation of fallen Canadian soldiers and heroes who lost their lives protecting Canadian freedom. Premier’s Awards celebrate the achievements of Ontario college graduates in the province and throughout the world. Humber graduates were nominated in seven categories: Business, Community Services, Creative Arts and Design, Health Sciences, Recent Graduate, Technology and Apprenticeship.

“We are proud of our alumni and the contributions they make to their sectors, locally and internationally. Allan Cole is an example of someone who gained critical career-oriented skills at Humber and who continues to apply in his role at MacKinnon & Bowes Ltd.,” said Chris Whitaker, president, Humber College. “The entire college community congratulates Allan on his selection as a Premier’s Award recipient.”
