Bridging the User Experience through Site Configuration - Phase 1 - Sept 2024

Hurdles

• Time gap between DXP migration and existing sites will cause a disconnect between the sites for the viewer
• Viewers are required to move back and forth between several different sites to complete the user journey for recruitment purposes
• With the current site configuration, the viewer is not as aware that they are moving from site to site. However, with the new visual identity developed for DXP, the visual shift between DXP-enabled sites and existing sites is much more of an obvious disconnect

Interim Solution

Phase 1

• Coordinated with the change of the Humber visual identity, change the global menu and footer colours to more closely match the DXP sites (see examples)

Phase 2

• Change the site configurations on the existing cms sites to make the sites instantly appear more cohesive, changing only components that are risk-free requiring no further modifications, ie, colour to colour, button styles etc.
• Change the drop down styling, top menu and submenu colours to match the DXP

Benefits

• Sites can be changed quickly having all configuration on recruit facing sites calibrated before the next recruitment cycle
• There will be very little disconnect in the User Journey for recruitment purposes
• Sites will be able to be migrated in any order without the viewer noticing the shift
• Internal departments will be less anxious about the disconnect if all sites essentially appear similar during the migration process
