Humber College is a Smoke-Free Campus

Humber College aims to ensure a healthy working and learning environment for the college community and recognizes the health hazards associated with smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke. Humber became a smoke-free campus on January 1, 2019, with the introduction of the Smoke-Free Campus Policy.

As we begin a new semester, we would like to take some time to remind our community of this Policy. This Policy applies to all students, employees, contractors, the general public, and any other visitors on campus grounds. Smoking is prohibited on college property including all campuses, buildings, spaces, and grounds (including outdoor spaces), with a few special exemptions, which are described in the Policy. The use, sale, and promotion of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, vapour products, tobacco products, cannabis products, and any other smoking products on college property is prohibited.

Signage indicating the prohibition of smoking of any kind on college property is found throughout all campuses, including in outdoor spaces. We encourage individuals to contact the Department of Public Safety at extension 8500 or by dialing 416-675-8500 should smoking of any kind be observed on college property. Those found in violation of the Policy may be subject to remedial action.

We thank all members of our community for their adherence to this Policy and assisting to make our campus smoke-free. Together, we can create a healthy working and learning environment for all.
