Collective resilience is the team’s ability to overcome adversity and then adapt and grow together because of that adversity. Resilient teams are the key to both individual and organizational resilience. Resilient teams are stronger together and they make learning and change possible. This certificate program provides the knowledge and skills required to build and lead resilient teams in organizations of any size, in any industry.

 

This certificate program is specifically designed to accommodate both new and seasoned supervisors, managers, and senior leaders. People that aspire to a leadership role may also participate.

  • Seven weekly learning modules requiring 6 hours of student preparation and 3 contact hours of virtual instructor-led live group discussion per module.
  • Individual student preparation includes reading assignments, watching relevant videos, and answering reflection questions.
  • Instructor-led group discussions ensure a thorough understanding of applicable factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural (how) knowledge.
  • Instructor-led group discussions leverage your unique leader/follower experience and perspectives.
  • Raise morale in the workplace by creating a positive climate for people to work in.
  • Boost teamwork by developing cohesion among team members.
  • Improve employee motivation and commitment by providing purpose in the workplace.
  • Increase the team’s ability to solve problems and overcome challenges by facilitating team learning.
  • Enhance the organization’s ability to change and compete by supporting organizational learning.

This certificate program requires 63 hours (42 self-directed prep hours/21 online classroom hours) of your time. For our inaugural cohort beginning March 2024, we are proud to offer the Certificate of Accomplishment in Building and Leading Resilient Teams for a promotional rate of $1,200.

Completing this program in Building and Leading Resilient Teams satisfies the training requirements for all three levels of Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® (RBLP®) certification exams.

Shelley Lamothe

MMM, CD, BSc., MPAS, RBLP-T, PROSCI, ELP, QS/TP Mgr

Shelley brings more than two decades of experience as a highly-ranked senior leader and strategic advisor with the Department of National Defense in the areas of clinical care, health services, corporate services, and training and development. She recently transitioned into the corporate sector as the Director of Learning and Development with Medcan in Toronto.

As a previous Physician Assistant, Shelley delivered health care across Canada and throughout the world on behalf of the Canadian Armed Forces. Shelley led and managed diverse teams of up to 3,000 personnel as the Royal Canadian Medical Services Corp Chief Warrant Officer. She was regularly engaged in training and educating students in various capacities for all medical professionals and soldiers. Shelley has also been a passionate advocate for collaborative health care as a Board Member for the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants.

Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Centre. As a life-long learner, she has continued her studies in leadership to obtain an Executive Leadership Qualification from the National Defense University in Washington DC, PROSCI Change Management Certification, and Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® Trainer (RBLP-T) Certification. Shelley is Qualification Standards and Training Plan Management qualified in curriculum development and delivery.

As a decorated veteran, Shelley was inducted into the Order of Military Merit by the Governor General of Canada, recognized by Esprit de Corps magazine as one of 2023’s Top Women in Defense, awarded the Special Service Medal working for NATO in Germany, granted three operational tour medals for her work in Bosnia and Afghanistan, and given the Canadian Forces Decoration for 22 years of loyal and dedicated service.
