How should I share my screen if I am teaching an online class?
When sharing your screen in MS Teams, choosing to share a specific window on your device may affect the behavior and certain functionalities of MS Teams. If you’re teaching using MS Teams and need to switch between multiple screens and windows, we suggest sharing your entire screen instead. Remember to close any unnecessary applications and remove sensitive information from your display beforehand.
If you are simply sharing a PowerPoint presentation, we recommend that you select PowerPoint Live to enhance the accessibility of your slides.
Here’s a quick guide to help you choose the best screen share option for your needs:
Screenshare Options | If you want to… | Great when… |
---|---|---|
Desktop | Show your entire screen with all your device activities. | You need to seamlessly share and flip between multiple windows and applications. |
Window | Show only one window and without device activities. | You only need to show one thing like a file or webpage. |
PowerPoint Live | Present a PowerPoint file that your students can interact with. | You need to share a PowerPoint and enable the accessibility options for your students. |
