It may be challenging, but reflecting on your lived experiences allows you to start this journey from a place of openness and realization.

Take a moment to reflect on yourself and your professional practice. You may be new to the concept of EDI in your teaching and/or professional practice. Whether you are already working on incorporating EDI into your practice or you are just starting out, this is an opportunity for you to lay the foundation in your EDI journey.

Growing up, did you feel safe in your environment? Did you feel like you could be your authentic self around others?

As a learner, have you ever felt left out or excluded in the learning environment?

What learning experiences or situations led you to where you are now?

How were you able to access those learning experiences?

What social barriers or limitations have you experienced?

What inequities have you experienced in your learning environment? Professional practice? Real-world situations?

What did you do to overcome that experience or situation?
