I encourage my students to ask, ‘Where are my people?’ in the realms of design and architecture and seek them out. I integrate design project examples that have been done by a wide variety of ethnicities.

Other questions we discuss:
‘Who are the lost heroes of design history, that went unheard due to their ethnic background?’ I have been updating my course content by looking to other leading academic institutions, who are developing new courses that investigate the intersection of race, equity, social justice, and the built environment.
