The Critical Nursing Advanced Certificate (ICU Level 3) program is designed for registered nurses (RNs) seeking to advance their practice in critical care nursing. Critical Care Services Ontario Definition Level 3 units are capable of providing the highest level of service to meet the needs of patients who require advanced or prolonged respiratory support - including invasive ventilator support - or basic respiratory support together with the support of more than one organ system. Completion of the certificate includes a clinical placement.

New! Please be advised that the Critical Care Nursing Certificate will be phased out. The current certificate will not be offered after Winter 2026.

Please note, CORN 510, CORN 511, NEPH 610 & POST 500 will remain unchanged and will continue to be offered because they are courses within other CPL Faculty of Health Science and Wellness certificates.?We highly recommend completing the critical care specific courses first before taking any of the above-mentioned courses to complete your certificate.?
To complete the current certificate, students are encouraged to undertake courses within the timelines above. Students who do not complete the courses within the above timelines will be unable to finish their current Critical Care Nursing certificate.?

You are required to register for each individual course included in a CE program. You can register for a course by selecting it and following the instructions in the “How to Register” box.
Each CE program is comprised of a series of courses which may all have different fees. You are required to register for each course individually and pay the associated fees. Once you select the course, the fee is displayed in the “How to Register” box.
