Looking to start your career as a consultant? This introductory consulting program will help you get started, as it is designed for individuals who are new to the field of consulting and want to develop the foundational skills needed to succeed in this dynamic profession. The program is uniquely designed to complement your area of expertise with the essential skills needed to become an effective consultant. Through a combination of practical instruction, case studies, real-world examples and expert insights, this program will guide students through key aspects of the consulting process including pricing, relationship management, budgeting and financial forecasting, and negotiation.

The program consists of five micro-credentials which you can complete separately, or you can stack them to achieve a Certificate of Completion. To complete the program in its entirety, you need to complete four of the mandatory micro-credentials which include:

  1. Introduction to Professional Consulting
  2. Relationship Management in Professional Consulting
  3. Essential Skills in Professional Consulting
  4. Project Management in Professional Consulting

To tailor the learning experience, students can choose one elective:

  1. Careers in Consulting – An exploration of various career paths within the consulting industry including the skills and strategies needed to advance in a consulting career.
  2. Running Your Own Consulting Business – A practical guide for those interested in entrepreneurship, focusing on how to start, grow and manage a successful consulting business.

By the end of the program, students will have the necessary techniques to manage consulting projects effectively, from initiation to completion, and be prepared to start an exciting role in the consulting field.

Professional Consulting Micro-credentials are OSAP Eligible

As a learner in this program, you may qualify for financial assistance through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) for Micro-credentials.

  • Select and complete the micro-credential OSAP application. You can only be funded for one course at a time through OSAP.
  • The deadline to apply for OSAP is the last day of your micro-credential course.
  • Enrol in and pay for the micro-credential course you wish to take (if you have not already done so). Please note that funding is sent directly to the learner by the National Student Loans Centre for Micro-Credentials. Payment for the course must be made at the time of registration.
  • Once the course has started, we will confirm your enrolment and OSAP funds will be released to your bank account.

How to Register

You are required to register for each individual course included in a CE program. You can register for a course by selecting it and following the instructions in the “How to Register” box.

Fees

Each CE program is comprised of a series of courses which may all have different fees. You are required to register for each course individually and pay the associated fees. Once you select the course, the fee is displayed in the “How to Register” box.
