Professor, Faculty of Business
Audel Cunningham has been a member of the Humber College community since 2008 in the position of Professor of Law in the School of Business (now the Faculty of Business). He holds a Masters of Laws in International Trade Law from the University of Essex, a Master of Laws in European Business Law from the Pallas Consortium, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the West Indies. He has published research in the areas of Competition Policy and Trade Remedies and has current research interests in the areas of developmental challenges for small vulnerable economies within the global trading system. Audel is called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in Ontario.

Professor, Faculty of Media and Creative Arts
Dr. Lydia Boyko is a faculty member in Humber’s Faculty of Media and Creative Arts. Lydia joined Humber in 2011 after more than 20 years of business experience in the private sector, with a focus on government and investor relations in the financial services sector, and several years as a partial-load business professor at the post-secondary level. She is an Accredited Life Member of the Canadian Public Relations Society and a Fellow, Life Management Institute specializing in life and health insurance. Lydia is a lifelong student, completing a Journalism undergraduate degree at Carleton University, a post-graduate certificate in business communication at McGill University, and Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy degrees at the University of Toronto. Her doctoral thesis, Academic Department Management, won the 2010 George L. Geis Dissertation Award from the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education.
REB Coordinator
Morag joined the Program Planning, Development & Renewal (PPDR) team in July 2021 as the Research Ethics Board Coordinator. She has been a part of Humber College for many years and has extensive experience in various departments within the College. Morag joined the International Department in its infancy as the Office Coordinator/International Admissions Advisor where she was the liaison between international students, agents, embassies and the Registrar's office. She was an integral part in the development of the international tracking database system as well as international application processes and procedures. Before coming to PPDR, she was the Office Coordinator and Assistant to the Principal at the Orangeville campus providing support and guidance to faculty, staff and students as well as serving as the liaison between the academic schools and the Orangeville community.
Assistant Director, Cummings Center for the History of Psychology
Dr. Jennifer Bazar serves the Humber REB as an external community member. Jennifer is the Assistant Director of the Drs. Nicholas and Dorothy Cummings Center for the History of Psychology at The University of Akron (Akron, Ohio). She completed her PhD at York University in the History and Theory of Psychology program and a Postdoctoral Fellowship with the University of Toronto and the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care (Penetanguishene, Ontario). Prior to taking on her current role, Jennifer spent five years as the Curator at Humber College's Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre and taught for eight years in various Psychology departments in both Canada and the United States. Her primary research focuses on the history of mental health care institutionalization, with an emphasis on archival, material culture, and oral history methods.
Associate Librarian, University of Guelph
Nancy Birch serves the Humber REB as an external community member. Nancy is Associate Librarian at the University of Guelph. She joined the university in 2010 in a senior management capacity and, during a career spanning more than two decades, has held teaching, librarianship, research, and senior learning consultancy roles in both private and public sector educational contexts. She has a Master of Information Studies from the University of Toronto, an Ontario Certified Teacher designation, as well as additional certifications in strategic leadership, coaching, instructional design and learning evaluation. Nancy’s research interests include online pedagogy, information literacy, learning outcomes assessment and change management.
Professor, Faculty of Applied Science and Technology
Dr. Maryam Davoudpour received the PhD degree from the Moscow State Technical University of Bauman in Information Technology and Control Complex Systems. She also completed a NSERC post-doctoral fellowship. She has extensive industrial and academic experience. Dr. Davoudpour is the recipient of the Humber College President's Research Excellence Award 2020. Dr. Davoudpour's research interests are in the area of Nonlinear Modeling, Modeling Context-Aware Systems and the Internet of Things. Her work has been published in dozens of journals. Dr. Davoudpour is the first female Chair of the IEEE Toronto Section since 1903. She is also the Chair of Women in Engineering (WIE) at IEEE Toronto. Dr. Davoudpour was selected as an Honorable Mention for the 2018 WIE Inspiring Member of the Year Award by the IEEE Women in Engineering Committee (WIEC), an international recognition, for her inspirational leadership and outstanding contributions to the IEEE WIE and IEEE communities.
Bioscience Professor, Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness
Dr. Jeffrey Semple began his graduate work in the field of comparative animal physiology, identifying new genes involved in environmental adaptation. He later moved into cancer research studying the genetics of cell cycle regulation, for which he earned his PhD from the University of Waterloo. Throughout his graduate career Jeff taught part-time at both the University of Waterloo and Conestoga College. For the past 15 years, Jeff has been a full-time faculty member in the Bioscience Division within the School of Health Sciences (now the Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness) at Humber teaching courses on human anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
Professor, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Innovative Learning
Dr. Masood Zangeneh is the founding editor of the International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, editor of the book series Advances in Mental Health & Addiction, and founding editor of the Journal of Concurrent Disorders. Masood also serves as a consultant to numerous scientific journals and universities for interdisciplinary, mutli-cultural research and development addressing mental health, addiction, and resilience among marginalized populations. Masood recently published Indigenous Knowledge and Mental Health: A Global Perspective with Dr. David Danto, a clinical psychologist and Head of Psychology at the University of Guelph-Humber. This work is recognized as contributing to the literature that addresses the impacts of colonization on the well-being of Indigenous Peoples and the role of Indigenous knowledge(s) in healing and well-being.
