Fall 2021 Move In
Move In time slots
This year residents will only be allowed to move in by appointment, which are scheduled in 2 hour blocks with a limited number of students per time slot. Residents are strongly encouraged to be on site by the beginning of their time slot, as they will not be permitted to access the elevators for moving in after the end of their 2 hour time slot. To reserve your time slot, please go to https://myresidence.humber.ca/StarRezPortalX beginning July 28 and click on “Move-In Appointments”.
Access to select move in time slots will be available until Monday, August 23 at 9:00am EST for first year residents, and until Friday, August 27 at 9:00am EST for returning residents.
Move In Helpers
Each resident may bring up to 2 members of their household or social circle to assist with their move in. Residents must register their helpers, including each helper’s full name, email and phone number, prior to arrival on campus at https://myresidence.humber.ca/StarRezPortal using the “Visitors” tab. Residents and their helpers must complete a self-assessment on the day of their arrival using the Humber Guardian app, found at https://humber.ca/publicsafety/services/humber-guardian-app. Residents and their helpers must also wear masks while in common areas, and must practice physical distancing from others not with their group. All helpers must leave the residence by the end of their appointment time slot.
Early belonging storage
In an effort to reduce density in residence during Move In Week, Humber Residence is offering the opportunity for residents to store their belongings in their residence room prior to their move in date at no additional charge, beginning Monday, August 16. Students who are interested in this option should go to the residence portal at https://myresidence.humber.ca/StarRezPortalX and click “Early Belonging Storage”.
Early arrival requests
Students with exceptional circumstances who require early residence move in may apply through the residence portal at https://myresidence.humber.ca/StarRezPortalX using the Additional Accommodations application. Please note that early arrivals at the Lakeshore Residence will only be available beginning Friday, August 27th.
Students coming from outside of Canada, or who have recently traveled outside of Canada, may have to complete a mandatory quarantine period upon arrival in the country. No students will be permitted to quarantine in residence. Students will be screened upon arrival and anyone who has traveled and has a quarantine requirement will only be allowed to move into residence after the quarantine has been completed.
Other Move In information
All residents who will be on campus for Fall 2021 must electronically sign the Return to Campus Agreement prior to moving into residence. The Return to Campus Agreement will be distributed to all on campus students by email over the coming weeks, so please watch your email and ensure you sign before arriving on campus.
