About Our Services

Our team supports the mental health and well-being of all students enrolled at Humber Polytechnic, the University of Guelph-Humber, and Humber Downtown. We offer a wide range of timely, accessible supports grounded in a Stepped Care approach, ensuring every student receives the right level of care at the right time.

Our services are provided FREE of charge to all enrolled students. To access our services, you must be physically located in Ontario at the time of your appointment.

Scope of Practice

Our Mental Health Team offers holistic, student-centered support grounded in compassion, equity, and evidence-informed practice. We are a diverse, interdisciplinary team of regulated health professionals, including Mental Health Registered Nurses, Registered Social Workers, and Registered Psychotherapists, who bring a range of clinical expertise to support your overall well-being. In addition, we work closely with community organizations to bring you mental health services on-site at no cost.

We understand that students benefit from a variety of mental health supports. Whether you're navigating stress, feeling overwhelmed, seeking clarity, or simply needing a safe space to talk, our team is here to listen, guide, and support you. Our services include mental health assessments, strength-based and solution-focused support, wellness planning, crisis intervention, and connections to both on-campus and community-based resources.

⚠️ Please note: We do not offer emergency/crisis service. If you are experiencing any immediate physical or mental health concerns, please contact 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Outside of Our Scope of Practice

While we strive to support a wide range of student mental health needs and provide timely, accessible care for all, some services extend beyond our scope of practice or may require specialized services/supports. Examples of services beyond our scope of practice:

  • Long-term, treatment-focused psychotherapy
  • Intensive and ongoing weekly appointments
  • Documentation and/or treatment for the purposes of court/legal proceedings
