Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) | I was inspired to create something that was beautiful yet unique. Originally, this image was shot in studio with flowers as the inspiration. I wanted to make something youthful, beautiful yet minimalistic. During the editing process, I felt as though something was missing. It was almost too perfect. I felt as though, by moving some of the sections off her face, it gave this idea that there's something more beneath the surface. As though what's being shown isn't her full reality, and there's more beneath the surface. I created it as a cyanotype print because the whole process of a cyanotype print is meant to be anything but perfect. Another reflection that perfection will never be attainable, and that there's more to someone, or something, then being perfect. |
