Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) This art piece is my first ever collage. For an assignment, I was given a country to use in the development of a concept for a space I was given, I did some research and gathered images that really showed the beauty of Russia, the paint colours are from the flag, I used those colours as my background blended it a little but kept most of it in, then I looked at images of the Russian Orthodox Church which represents there most widely professed religion christianity, I incorporated the gold, the arched windows and crosses, and lastly I used the most famous ballet theatre the Mariinsky for the white cottons, some how I felt that the illusion of movement with the gold aches, makes a twirl like a ballet dancer, I didn't put much thought in to where everything would go, but in the end I believe it spoke for it self.
