Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) I was inspired to create the piece by finding the beauty within minimalism. I challenged myself to use simple approaches to this image which created a pure yet dramatic feeling. The lustrous pearls and the vibrancy of the hair pops out against the dark blackness which encompasses the majority of the frame. This heavy contrast draws attention to the main focal point, the model's serene expression. She is delicately holding onto the pearls, representing the desire to hold onto the beautiful things in life, especially when it feels so mundane.
