Is this an Original Piece or a Reproduction? Original Piece
Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) I created this piece at an intersection of extreme despair and hope. I thought I had lost both myself and the person most important to me, and creating this piece was the first step toward a life where both of us were going to be okay. It is all about acknowledging the good that comes with the bad in life and vice versa, and letting the complexities and nuances of emotions shape us rather than ignoring all that is not convenient. I have juxtaposed poems made from recycled text with a variety of visuals to guide the viewer on a reflective journey through the intense pain of caring.
The artwork is a mixed media collage consisting of magazine clippings pasted on an acrylic background, framed with recycled materials.
I wrote about and showed more photographs of it on my art blog, and the post can be accessed here: https://oursdefleurs.blogspot.com/2022/02/collage-3.html
