Art Description (What inspired you to create the artwork?) | This work was heavily inspired by the painting Ophelia by John Everett Millais, though there are significant differences from Millais’ painting, so I’m not sure if this falls under a reproduction or an original piece. I painted Jules in the halloween episode as the character Ophelia from Shakespeare’s play hamlet because i thought it was fitting with how they’re both driven to self-sabotage from love. In the episode, Jules drowns herself in alcohol as well as jumps into a pool because of her worries about Nate, who she used to love, blackmailing her as well as Rue’s wellbeing. |
