Photography (PH211)

Graduates of the Creative Photography Diploma Program of Humber College will receive 51 block transfer credits when admitted to the Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts at York University. Depending on course waivers and the York University degree program chosen, students may need to complete more than the minimum of 120 credits for an honours degree.

Admission Requirement

Students applying to York University from the Creative Photography Diploma Program of Humber College must have graduated with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B). Applicants must also attend an entrance portfolio review conducted by a faculty member of the Department of Visual Art and Art History and be deemed successful to be admitted to the BFA Honours program. The entrance portfolio review is to be scheduled once the application is received. Candidates will present portfolio work as specified by the Department of Visual Art and Art History.
Applications must be received no later than March 1st in order to qualify for admittance in the following September.
Students must submit a transcript confirming graduation from the Creative Photography Diploma Program of Humber College. If only a partial transcript is sent, the admission offer will be conditional to the presentation of full final official transcript confirming graduation from the Creative Photograpy Diploma Program of Humber College.

Theatre Arts - Performance (04881)

Graduates of Humber's Theatre Arts-Performance program may transfer to York University's Specialized Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Acting program.  Graduates will be granted a block of 60 credits towards the 120 required. Transferring students will be required to complete a minimum of 60 credits to receive their BFA degree.

The block transfer of 60 credits is specific to the completion of the requirements for the Specialialized Honours BFA Theatre-Acting.  Studio classes in acting and devised theatre are not open to transferring students.

Admission Requirement

Students must have graduated:

  1. in the past 3 years from Humber's Theatre Arts-Performance porogram.
  2. with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B).

Students must attend an interview conducted by a faculty member of the Department of Theatre and be deemed successful, to be admitted to the BFA Honours program.

  2. Applications must be received no later than April 1 in order to qualify for admittance in the following September.  Students must submit a transcript confirming graduation from the Humber program.
  3. If only a partial transcript is sent, the admission offer will be conditional to the presentation of a full transcript confirming graduation
  4. Candidates must attend an interview with a faculty member
  5. A letter from the director of Humber's Theatre Arts-Performance program supporting the candidate must accompany the application to the Department of Theatre.

General Arts and Science - University Transfer (Diploma) (09111)

Graduates of the General Arts and Science Diploma Program of Humber College will receive 45 block transfer credits when admitted to Any Honours Bachelor Degree in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at York University. Depending on course waivers and the York University degree program chosen, students may need to complete more than the minimum of 120 credits for an honours degree.

*Minimum grade of 60% is required to receive York course waiver.

Admission Requirement

Students applying to York University from the General Arts and Science Diploma Program of Humber College must have graduated with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B). Some degree programs may require a higher minimum overall GPA and have degree specific prerequisites. Students should verify admission requirements prior to applying for admission.

Applications must be received no later than March 1st in order to qualify for admittance in the following September.

Students must submit a transcript confirming graduation from the General Arts and Science Diploma Program of Humber College. Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees (PH111)

Graduates of Humber's Pre-Health Sciences Pathways to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees may be considered for admission to York University to be enrolled in any Bachelor degree program. 

Graduates will be granted a total block of 18 transfer credits when entering any Bachelor level program at York University and will be deemed to have satisfied entrance pre-requisites.  It is important to note that depending on the electives chosen in the Pre-Health Sciences certificate program, and the desired program at York University, a student may need to complete more than the minimum of 102 credits for a total of 120 credits to graduate from York.

Admission Requirement

Applicants must have graduated with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B or 70%) and have met any additional program or degree specific admission requirements.  Note:  Some programs may require a higher GPA.

  • applicants must apply to York University by following the steps identified on the admissions website
  • the application must be received by the dates published on the York University Future Students site
  • all students must submit an official transcript confirming overall GPA and current enrolment at Humber or graduation from the Pre-Health program
  • If only a partial transcript is sent, the admissions offer will be conditional to the presentation of a full transcript.
