City Wide Conference Tutorial

1) Login to the manager (citywidetraining.ca/manager)

2) On the side menu - navigate to Events (ID# 108)

3) Click the + sign to open pages inside Events (ID# 108)

4) Duplicate any page inside here

5) Once the page is duplicated

Page info

  1. Replace the title of the page from Duplicate of ... to the name of the event you are creating
  2. Remove the Duplicate of... alias in the URL alias field and an automatic alias will be created based on your new page name once saved.
  3. Make sure Uses Template is set to Regular
  4. To add a block - select the block type using the dropdown on the right side and then click Add Block

5.1 Content Block

  1. Use this block for any text content (headings, paragraphs, etc)
  2. Open the block using the blue + sign
  3. Inside Rich Text Columns, you can add multiple Spans (Columns) to organize your content. The column numbers should always add up to 12, for example:
    1. Span 8 and Span 4
    2. Span 6 and Span 6
    3. Span 4 and Span 4 and Span 4
    4. Span 3 and Span 3 and Span 3 and Span 3

  1. Inside Bottom Links is where you can add buttons
    1. Select the colour, the icon, enter the button text and the link of the button

accordion

  1. You can make an Accordion (where you can open and close content) by selecting Accordion in the Tab Ids dropdown
    1. You then have to enter a name/tab id (no spaces for each name) and then a Title
    2. You then have to add a new Tabs Content block - and add the same Title and name/tab id in the block to reference it
    3. The tabs content can also has the Bottom Links option 
      1. Sessions with multiple parts should be populated using the Accordion and a register button should be added for each tab
        1. A register link that allows them to register for All Sessions (i.e. All 5 parts) should be put at the top with text indicating that they can register for all 5 if desired
        2. See 6) to get register links of events

5.2 Brand Carousel Block

  1. Use this block for banner images
  2. Open the block using the blue + sign
  3. Insert an image under Carousel Items where it says Image:
  4. Add an alt tag

5.3 Parallax Block

  1. Use this block for banner images where you desire the parallax scroll effect
  2. Open the block using the blue + sign
  3. Insert an image under Bg. Image
  4. Add an alt tag
  5. Add a height (recommended: 400 or 500)

5.4 Publish the page

  1. Click Settings at the top of the page
  2. Check Published
  3. Save the page when all the blocks are configured

Note: These pages will not show in the Events Calendar until you insert the link into the URL field in the back-end ModuleTo insert.

6) How to get an event's register link

  1. Click Modules in the CMS top menu
  2. Click Events button below the top menu
  3. Find the desired event
  4. Click Preview
  5. Copy the URL in the address bar for the event

6.1 How to add an event's register link to CMS

  1. Click the desired CMS page
  2. Add or Edit a block (i.e. Content Block)
  3. Scroll to the section that says Bottom Links
  4. Select Inline Centered or Inline for the Type
  5. Select options for the way the button looks (i.e. Colour, Large Button, Right Arrow)
  6. Copy the register link from 6) to the "Link To" field
  7. You can add multiple buttons and multiple register links if desired

7) How to add a Front-end Marketing url to an Event in the Calendar

event resource id

  1. Click Modules in the CMS top menu
  2. Click Events button below the top menu
  3. Find the desired event
  4. Click Edit on the right side
  5. Add the URL of the Front-end Marketing page to the URL or Resource ID field
  6. Scroll to the bottom and Save

8) How to Add Breakout Sessions

conference type

  1. Click Modules in the CMS top menu
  2. Click Events button below the top menu
  3. Find the desired event
    1. Note: The event must be the type: Conference in order to have Breakout Sessions

add session

  1. Click Sessions
  2. Click Add Session on the top right
  3. Type in the Name and Description

breakout session

  1. Then on the previous screen - click Edit/Breakouts on that Session you created
    1. Click Add Breakout
    2. Fill in the information of the Breakout
  2. Save
