Donate to Nature for All

Support the Humber Arboretum’s Nature for All Fund to help more people get outside and connect with nature.

What is the Nature for All Fund?

The Humber Arboretum uses the Nature for All Fund to create nature connection opportunities for community members of all ages, incomes, backgrounds, and abilities.

This includes:

  • Working with community partners to provide a free week of Nature Camp to children who would otherwise be unable to attend
  • Subsidizing classroom field trips, with customized opportunities based on the school’s needs
  • Offering free, themed workshops and activities for families and adults, including arts-based offerings
  • Creating customized programs for groups with different needs and backgrounds

Where has the money come from before?

In the past, Nature for All has primarily been funded through project-specific grants and large gifts from wonderful organizations and individuals, such as Citizens Concerned about the Future of the Etobicoke Waterfront (CCFEW), the Humber Polytechnic Community Impact Fund, a Power Off and Play Bright Ideas grant, and several generous Humber Alumni donors.

How will my donation help?

By building up the Nature for All Fund through individual donations of any size, the Humber Arboretum will have the ability to use the money on an as-needed basis, with the flexibility to develop and offer needs-based opportunities throughout the year.

And remember, small donations add up to create big impact!

Here are just some of the ways your donation could be used and combined with the donations of others:

  • $35 can reduce the cost of a classroom’s curriculum–connected field trip by $1 per student
  • $50 can buy supplies for a free community workshop
  • $75 can cover one day of fun and discovery for one child at Nature Camp
  • $150 can cover the honorarium of a guest workshop facilitator
  • $250 can buy a new set of pond nets or other equipment to be used in a variety of programs
  • $385 can cover a full week of Nature Camp for one child
  • $550 can cover a field trip for an entire class of 30 students
  • $1000 can cover a full day of customized programming plus bussing for a community group who otherwise would not be able to access the space

A History of Support

The generosity of private donors, businesses, and organizations has had a major impact on the Humber Arboretum over the years. New buildings, expanded horticultural collections, important research, and professional development opportunities for staff have all been made possible by the contributions of our supporters.

If you are interested in making a financial contribution, a gift in kind, or have other ideas about ways you would like to support the Humber Arboretum outside of the Nature for All Fund, please contact us at arboretum@humber.ca or call 416-675-5009.
