  • Time Management & Organization– Learn how to plan your schedule, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines. 

  • Study Skills & Active Learning– Discover effective study methods, note-taking strategies, and active learning tips. 

  • Test Preparation & Test-Taking Strategies– Get support with exam planning, memory tools, and strategies to tackle different types of tests. 

  • Reading & Note-Taking Techniques– Improve your academic reading and explore note-taking methods that work for you. 

  • Goal Setting & Motivation– Set realistic academic goals and build action plans to keep yourself motivated.

  • Excel Support –Get help with basic to intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, functions, and formatting. 

    • **Please note we do not assist with specific assignments, however our students can provide general support with Excel through practice exercises to familiarize yourself with the Excel functions 

  • Digital Learning Support- Receive general guidance on common digital learning platforms such as Blackboard and Microsoft Office.  

  • Presentation & Group Work Skills- Enhance your public speaking skills and learn how to work effectively in group projects.  

  • Referrals to Student Learning Services supports- Our student leaders can provide personalized referrals to other resources to support your academic success (ex. Peer Tutoring, Peer Assisted Study Sessions, Math and Writing Centre supports, etc.)

You can also access Learning Support Drop-In hours online via Upswing! Please follow the instructions below:

  • Visit Upswing and log in with your Humber username and password
  • Click "Meet with a Tutor"
  • In the "Search for a subject or tutor" search bar, type "Learning Support Drop-In" and click search, and the tutors available to provide Learning Support Drop-In hours will appear
  • You can browse the tutor profiles, and click "Select a time" to book a session, follow the prompts and click "Schedule" to submit your request 
  • Once you have submitted your session request, you will receive confirmation via email when your appointment is approved 

Please note, our tutors availability on Upswing is based on the current Learning Support Drop-In schedule.
