Program Overview

The Woodworking certificate program has been developed to teach you basic woodworking/cabinetmaking skills at your own pace. if you do not have previous experience, but have an interest in woodworking, this course is for you. Through a series of small furniture projects, ranging from a step stool or spice rack to a night table or wall cabinet, you will gain the knowledge and skills required to operate woodworking machinery safely and effectively using recognized trade practices. Each session consists of short lectures, demonstrations and hands-on learning involving a hand-tool exercise, portable power tools and eventually  the use of stationary woodworking machines. You will complete a series of designated projects involving several types of woodworking joints, techniques and processes. Upon completion of this certficate you will be able to produce simple shop drawings, make material calculations, machine parts, and assemble and finish a cabinet or piece of furniture.

Delivery Mode

All Faculty of Applied Sciences Technology Continuous Professional Learning courses in this program are being offered in an online virtual classroom unless otherwise specified (for example lab required components). 

Additional Information

A record of all safety tests and machine demonstration attendance is kept on file using the progress chart as the requirement to meet the completion requirement of the certificate. 

Those who successfully complete the program are eligible to receive a certificate of completion from Humber College. Fees

Each CE program is comprised of a series of courses which may all have different fees. You are required to register for each course individually and pay the associated fees. Once you select the course, the fee is displayed in the “How to Register” box.
