About Using the App

Humber and University of Guelph-Humber’s Virtual ONECard is a smartphone application that can be used in addition to the physical student and staff ID cards. Follow the instructions below to install the Virtual ONECard app on your smartphone.

Download your ONECard (GotMyCard) App

  1. Download the GotMyCard app from either the Google Play or App Store.
  2. Once installed, open the GotMyCard app.
  3. The app will prompt you for an e-mail address.
    Humber - Key in your Humber username followed by "@humber.ca" (example: n12345678@humber.ca, bcdf@humber.ca, or smithj@humber.ca) and tap the "Done" button.
    IMPORTANT: Do not key in your actual Humber e-mail address or a personal e-mail address as those will not work.
    University of Guelph-Humber - Key in your University of Guelph-Humber email address (example: name01@guelphhumber.ca or first.last@guelphhumber.ca) and tap the "Done" button.
    IMPORANT: Do not key in a personal e-mail address as it will not work.
  4. Review the Terms and Conditions associated with ONECard and tap the "Accept" button.
  5. Check your e-mail for a ONECard activation link. Tap the "Confirm" button in the activation e-mail.
    Note:
    1. If you are unable to locate the ONECard app activation email in your Inbox, check the Junk Email folder.
    2. If you received any errors and require support, please contact the I.T. Support Centre.
  6. Finish the setup by tapping the "Proceed" button in the ONECard app.

How to use the ONECard App

For Identification
The identification feature on ONECard will be part of a future release. Please continue using your physical Humber or University of Guelph-Humber ID card until then.

For Access
You can use your ONECard to gain access to many different areas on campus by simply following the instructions below:

  1. Open the GotMyCard app on your smartphone.
  2. Ensure your phone’s Bluetooth (for iOS and older Android devices) and NFC (for Android devices) is turned ON.
    Note: These services should automatically turn on if your app permissions are set up correctly on your smartphone.
  3. Bring your smartphone close to the card reader for the area you are trying to access.
  4. That’s it! Access will be granted if you have authorization to access that area.
    Note:
    1. Some areas on campus will require you to continue using your physical ID card until those card readers have been upgraded for ONECard use.
    2. If you are unable to access an area and require support, please contact your Faculty or Departmental Access Manager, or Public Safety Security Systems.

For Purchases
You can use your ONECard to make purchases in many different areas on campus by simply following the instructions below:

  1. Open the GotMyCard app on your smartphone.
  2. Ensure your phone’s Bluetooth (for iOS and older Android devices) and NFC (for Android devices) is turned ON.
    Note: These services should automatically turn on if your app permissions are set up correctly on your smartphone.
  3. Bring your smartphone close to the card reader for the purchase you are trying to make.
  4. That’s it! Funds will automatically be deducted from the correct Account.
    Note:
    1. Some services on campus will require you to continue using your physical card(s) to pay for services until those service areas have been upgraded for ONECard use.
    2. Refer to this list of areas where you can use ONEcard to make a purchase.

Viewing your ONECard account balance(s) and transaction history

To view your ONECard account balance(s), open the GotMyCard app and select the Account Balance icon from the bottom of your screen. From there you can see the account balance(s) for all your ONECard accounts. To view transaction history for an account, select the account name and then select History.

Note – account balance(s) and transaction history can also be viewed on myONECard.humber.ca. Parents cannot view a student’s transaction history.
