Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005) Accessibility Awareness Training for Educators

Under the information and Communications Standard of the AODA (2005), Humber College is required to provide educators with accessibility awareness training related to accessible program or course delivery and instruction. An educator is defined as an employee who is involved in the designing, delivering or instructing of courses including:

  • Instructors;
  • Facilitators;
  • Presenters;
  • Curriculum Developers; and
  • Tutors.

All full-time, part-time, sessional and contract educators are required to complete the online Accessibility Awareness Training for Educators, as legislated by the AODA (2005). Please note that the Accessibility Awareness Training for Educators module is required to be completed in addition to the Accessible Customer Service Training.

To access the online Accessibility Awareness Training for Educators module:
Step 1: Go to hrs.humber.ca/human-rights-equity-diversity.html
Step 2: Scroll down to “Training Program” and click on the tab: “AODA Training for Educators”

Step 3:
On completion of training:
I. Log in using your Humber log-in information
II. Fill in the date of completion on the certificate, if necessary; and
III. Email the certificate to humanrights@humber.ca
