Advising & Careers Spotlight Series: Career Steps Workshops

Humber's Advising & Career Services is back with more services and support to highlight this week. In the spotlight this time are our Career Step Workshops, which have been instrumental in empowering students and recent graduates on their career journeys.

What are Career Step Workshops?

Our Career Step Workshops are dynamic, one-hour sessions open to all students in any program, almost every week. They are designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge for their career journey. All workshops are Co-Curricular Record (CCR) certified, providing a valuable recognition of students commitment. Last year, we hosted over 50 workshops, with over 400 students benefiting from these enlightening sessions. And the success continues this semester! We've already hosted over 20 workshops this semester with more exciting sessions to come.

Topics covered in Career Step Workshops:

  • Writing effective resumes and cover letters
  • Getting yourself LinkedIn
  • Mastering the art of interviews
  • Job searching on Career Connect
  • Rapid resume review
  • Job search strategies skills

To further enhance our community's understanding of our services, we have attached an essential resource:

Career Support Guide for Students: Faculty and staff can share this guide with their students, allowing them to access our wide range of services and resources.

We invite you to explore these supports and discover the various ways Advising & Career Services can benefit both students, faculty and staff. We look forward to continuing this journey of empowerment, education, and success in the semesters to come.
